Aiónios Thelema is used to denote the unique tradition of Thelema practiced by the HG.
More information will added to the HG Temple website about Aiónios Thelema at a later date.
In the mean time I will offer a brief summary, which is admittedly cursory and crudely reductionist.
This name Aiónios Thelema is meant to put the Aeon of Horus back into the context of Eternity, and to put Thelema back into the perennial context of the origins of it's most enduring elements. Much could be said of it's etymology(as well as of Aeonic Formulae) but I do not endeavor to do so at this particular hour.
Sufficeth to say It is all too common among Thelemites to take the Current Aeon out of the conxtext of the Eternal Aeonic Cycle(s), and to take Thelema out of the context of the great traditions that inspire it's synchretism, and it's essence.
While I do hold it to be true that formula, Law, word, and GodForm of this Aeon, are transformative and are moving us forward... the same is true of all Aeons, and of the Aeonic Cycle itself, that is the nature of the Aeons. However there is a certain great misunderstanding of the Aeon that has crippled Thelema(and thereby the Aeon itself[or more rather our experience of it)) from progress, which is ironic as it is partly the desire for progress that drives this self defeating trend.
It is a common theme of this misunderstanding of the Aeons to attribute to the New Aeon to unrealistic leap forward, the Aeons are the slow march of time, better said actually they are like unto the cosmic orbits in the infinity of space, they are the cycles of forward moving time in the eternity of the universe(another problem common to Thelema is the lack of recognition of the counter current of time...[but that is too much to elaborate upon at this time]). Aside from this misunderstanding of the pace of change, is also the nature of the changes, much of which is due to the pervasive influence of idealogies external to Thelema.
Forgive my vagueness but these matters would take much more time and space to elaborate upon than I intend for this blog post or this night.
As well this vagueness shall allow the reader to meditate upon nature of eternity and the aeons as well as the relation of the finite to the infinite.
